"Semper Fi My Love" was inspired by the words of Shannon Spann, whose husband Mike Spann was the first American killed in combat in operation Enduring Freedom. "Semper Fi," short for the latin "Semper Fidelis," means "always faithful." and is the motto of the U.S. Marine Corps
